of August, 1866. History.?Patient, in May 1866, sustained a fall from a mango tree, from a height of about eighteen fyet. Ilis right foot swelled and suppurated, and there was an abundant discharge of pus from the heel; on the discharge subsiding, several sinuses remained, which continued to emit a small quantity of matter. Jle has fallen off in health since the accident happened, and has not recovered the use of his foot. Condition on admission.?"Walks with much difficulty, with the aid of a staff; muscles of calf much wasted. There are six sinuses of the right heel. The probe passes deeply into the os culcis through each of these, discovering a large carious cavity. Bare bone can be felt on the outside of the os calcis.
